Victor Moscoso created a lot of vibrating images during the psychedelic period in graphic design. He would create a color discord by taking colors from the opposite end of the color wheel, each one having equal value and intensity. This was a pretty popular method during this era. He was even able to create moving pictures with different colored lights shining on them. I found this image in the book Graphic Design A History by Alain Wells. I feel this use of color discord works because of the times it was created in.
