Picasso's Viejo con guitarra. This is a painting that Pablo Picasso did in his blue period. It was created in late 1903 to early 1904. I remember seeing this painting in Chicago it has always been a favorite. The monochromatic color scheme gives the overall painting a melancholy and sorrowful theme. The cool colors add to the overall feel. This was painted at a time where Picasso was living on hard times.
