This is a poster by A.M. Cassandre that he created in the mid 30's. He did a lot of advertisements for transportation, and I believe this would be one of them for a railway in Europe. The leading line and one-point perspective drew me to the piece. I found this image in the book Graphic Design: A History. The point at which objects disappear entirely is called a vanishing point. Sets of parallel lines (such as train tracks) converge at a vanishing point as they go into the distance, creating an illusion of space.
