Variety

This is an ad for the Apple 3 personal computer. It was released in 1980 as a business-oriented personal computer. This was an informative ad letting the masses know all of the wonderful things that this computer could do.
The layout to me is quite chaotic with all of the information that is contained in this one page layout. The typography has a lot of resemblance to Garamond pro with a few alterations. The contrast is real strong so even though the size is small it is readable. Being a Garamond style it is a serif type that has been around over four-hundred years.
I was drawn to this piece because of its witty, fun and playful feeling. It's a piece of history that shows you just how far technology has come in the last thirty-eight years.
